Terms and Conditions
The hirer (or person hiring our equipment) agrees to the details outlined below in this agreement.
Amounts stated in this agreement are in Australian Dollars (AUD).
Booking
Trailer bookings will be held for up to 48 hours.
After this period if no deposit is paid, your booking may be cancelled. |

Bond
A bond of $500 applies to all rentals. Bond is payable on pickup of trailer. Bond covers incidentals such as canvas tear, tyre damage and cleaning costs.
Bond will be returned within 7 days of trailer return by cheque or cash.
Insurance
Excess for insurance of $1000 is payable by the hirer in the event of an accident. There is an option available for $5 per calendar day of hire to reduce the excess to $500.
Pickup and delivery
Pick up and return time is to be negotiated prior to pickup. Pickups and return service is available within Newcastle, Raymond Terrace or Maitland area. Please contact us to discuss.
Payment
Campers Down Under accepts payment by:
- Cash
- Cheque (Allow three days for clearance of personal cheques)
- Money Order
- Direct Deposit – account details provided upon request.
Cleaning
All trailers and equipment are cleaned prior to rental.
All trailers and equipment need to be returned the same way.No Smoking allowed in any of our trailers.
All marks to be wiped of the canvas with cloth and water only – no chemicals as this damages the water proofing on the canvas. Do not use high pressure cleaners on the canvas as this causes damage.
A cleaning fee of $100 per hour will apply if the trailer is returned dirty.
Repairs
If the trailer or equipment is damaged, the hirer agrees to pay Campers Down Under a reasonable cost to repair or replace damage.
Repairs need to be paid for within 7 days or the hirer will incur a daily rental rate on the trailer until paid.
ID and age restriction
Hirer must provide Campers Down Under with 2 forms of ID. One of these must be a valid and current Australian Drivers license (photo ID).
Hirer must also provide residential address, contact phone number and expected destination.
Driver of vehicle towing trailer must be over 25 years of age. Hirer must also provide details including Rego plates of the vehicle to be towing the trailer and vehicle’s Owners Details.
Late Returns
Trailers are rented on a Calendar day basis.
Any trailer or equipment not returned on agreed date will incur a $100 per day late fee.
There are no refunds, partial or otherwise and no future credit offered for early returns.
Repossession
The hirer agrees that, under any circumstances, Campers Down Under or any person nominated by us, can enter the hirers premises or anywhere the trailer or our equipment is stored, abandoned, parked or left by the hirer or anyone in the company of the hirer, in order for us to repossess our assets.
Damages
The hirer understands and agrees that Campers Down Under and any of its known affiliates are not accountable for any costs incurred to the hirer as a result of damage to or theft of any trailer or equipment during the rental time. This includes costs such as accommodation, meals, flights, car hire, phone calls or any other costs incurred.
Any and all damage to our trailers or equipment must be reported to Campers Down Under immediately. All repairs are to be under taken only as authorised by Campers Down Under using qualified service personnel nominated by us. All costs for repairs required as a result of damage while on hire shall be paid by the hirer.
Under no circumstances shall any third party be engaged, or act on behalf of the hirer for the purpose of repairs unless specifically authorised in writing by Campers Down Under.
Tyre damage is the responsibility of the hirer. All punctures must be repaired before the trailer is returned.
